Over 1,000 concert-goers were wowed by the performance of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with stunning Augmented Reality (AR) effects for the first time at VTC 35th Anniversary Fundraising Concert “Making Dreams Come True” held on 1 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in celebration of the VTC’s 35th anniversary.

Proceeds of the concert will be donated to the VTC Student Development Foundation to promote the whole person development of students. Under the Artistic Director and Conductor Dr Henry SHEK’s baton, the VTC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performed various pieces of music about the pursuit of dreams and hopes.

The concert started off with the theme Gonna Fly Now from the film Rocky, alongside real-time and three-dimensional images of visionary dreamers sprinting on the screens created with the aid of AR technology. The passionate beat of the music and the images gave the audience a thrilling audio-visual experience, encouraging them to chase down their dreams with perseverance.
