In a very different approach, a group of 30 students from Department of Communication Design and Digital Media experienced on interactive and creative media design that looks forwards into the future. They apply the concept of an “Initiatic Path” in a virtual world with objects spawn and demised endlessly in the scenario, creating an interesting and ever-changing interaction between the designers and visitors.

Visitors can doodle electronically in HKDI exhibition booth and transmit their artwork into this virtual world simulating a universe with four characters – Earth, Water, Air and Fire, like the four pillars in design education. The transmitted artwork will then interact with HKDI students’ and other visitors’ creative works through a six-metre wide display screen. With the joint efforts from students and lecturers of Higher Diploma of Creative Media, the virtual world also becomes an aesthetic animation for audience to admire.
